Alan Veniscofsky is a Hartford, CT based producer, engineer, mixer and multi-instrumentalist, with an audiophile ear and a hard sense of groove. His Tides Recording offers multi track recording, engineering and mixing services to a diverse group of area singer songwriters, composers and musicians. Alan sites artists, producers and engineers such as Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois, Andy Wallace, Steve Lillywhite, Peter Gabriel, David Botrill, Paul Simon, Francis Dunnery, Steve Kimock, Trey Anastasio and Jerry Garcia as his major influences, musically and in the studio.

Over the past 10 years Alan has engineered, recorded and mixed over 30 projects and participated in sessions at prestigious recording studios including Studio Paradiso (San Francisco), Java Jive (Nashville) Avatar Studios (NYC), Ocean Way Recording (LA & Nashville) and Electric Lady (NYC).

In May 2002, Alan graduated from the University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music with a degree in Music Production and Technology. Shortly after, he opened The Space, a 2000+ square foot rehearsal and recording facility outside of Hartford, CT. Then, in December of 2002 Alan went to work for Telefunken USA and Vintage Tones, where he has worked to this day day as Sales Manager and Director of Operations. Their day-to-day client list includes several music and recording industry professionals including John Mayer, John Reznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, Norah Jones, Matthew Sweet, Peter Gabriel, Mr Bonzai, Willy Porter, Goldfinger, Umphreys McGee, The Disco Biscuits, Dweezil Zappa and Green Day.

Alan can also be found performing and composing for the band Rane. He is also currently playing bass with Cain and the Neighborhood Band.
